TEL Blog relaunch

Relaunched!

This is the first post of the relaunched TEL team blog from the University of Hull. We will hopefully be making this a regular feature and a place to find our about all things TEL going on at the University.

TEL Guides

It seems like an appropriate time to remind people of our FAQ and TEL guides to Canvas on the Hull-Guides page in Canvas. Here you can find information on questions that others have asked about how to use Canvas, Enrol on open courses to help you get the best out of Canvas and also a glossary of Canvas-related terms.

Morning Canvas!

Every week at 0830 on a Thursday morning we say “Morning Canvas!” and open up a webinar for all to join where we discuss all things Canvas. Previous topics have been “how to customise your tiles on your dashboard” and “How to create an impact with your Home page“.

If you want to join a webinar, watch out for the joining instructions in your latest eBulletin.

Panopto

The TEL team have also been very active behind the scenes, testing out new tools within Canvas like Panopto to get the very best out of them. You will hear more about Panopto and how it can improve your teaching in future posts, but if you want to get ahead, please do contact Sue Watling in the team in the first instance.

Panopto has been included with every Canvas course at the University and it makes it really easy to add, upload or create new content for your courses.

Other news

In other news, Persefoni Stylianoudaki from the Technology Enhanced Learning team, will be joining Anji Gardner on the Student Services team from the 1st of December for a six month secondment. Persefoni will be working on the Student Engagement Project and will be located within that team for the duration of her secondment. All TEL enquiries related should still come to TEL@hull.ac.uk in the normal way during this period where we can then support them effectively within the TEL team.
